No. Wrong. The US Supreme Court decisions, District of Columbia v. Heller and MacDonald v. City of Chicago did not create an unfettered individual right to own whatever firearm your heart desires. The 2nd Amendment is not absolute. No one wants to take your hunting rifles or shotguns away from you. What is at issue is a private citizen’s access to military-style assault weapons. What is at issue is our broken mental health system. What is at issue is our broken background check system. What is at issue is our desire to put our individual right to a tool, above another’s right to live in relative peace and safety. What is our issue is our acquiescence to the thought that evil will always exist so why bother even trying to…

For me, Charlottesville has changed everything. I understand your concerns over my willingness to answer Nazism, fascism, and white supremacy with violence. Why am I willing to put down the pen and pick up the sword? This. This illustration. I refuse to allow bigots and Nazis to gain more power in America. We gain nothing by using honeyed words and platitudes to diffuse this tension. Those who seek to destroy humanity must be met by decent human beings who are willing to fight, actually fight, against their own use of violence. When words fail, when love fails, justice must prevail. Good must triumph at all times. Sometimes good must be terrible. The forces of good must strike terror into the hearts of evil men and women who want to turn…

Yes, the Trump Administration is actively undermining the ACA (Obamacare). His administration is not enforcing provisions of the law it finds contrary to their ideology. Flagrantly defying a duly enacted law is abhorrent. However, that’s not the real argument here. The Obama Administration utilized the same practice when it chose to cease enforcing provisions of laws it found offensive to the values they held dear. Let’s look at the bigger picture. Established law is dependent on the prevailing politics of their respective time. Drawing and quartering were a permitted means of executing prisoners because of established law. Slavery was not only established law but a way of life. Jim Crow was, and in some cases still is established law. The point being laws are not a good standard to use…

To Anthony Scaramucci, White House Communications Director: Hey, big guy. So I saw what you said to that nice reporter over at the New Yorker. Like when you threatened to kill White House staffers (which I’m pretty sure is a crime of some sort), or when you called Reince Priebus a “fucking paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac” and then said Steve Bannon was “trying to suck his own cock”. By the way, I’d pay real money to watch Bannon trying to do that; you guys should consider including a clip of it with your boss’s Russian hooker pee tape.) But I digress. That was some enthralling reading. You really let them have it. Now, I want to say something to you, and I need you to hear me out. So I’m…

It costs $0.00 to be a decent human being. There is no monetary value to a human life. We are priceless. We, by the essence of being human, transcend the concept of material value. You would not know or realize this fact if you look around at the society we exist within. We are a commodity. We are an integer on a spreadsheet. A profit motive. We are a consumable good. The previous sentence is loaded with multiple meanings depending on your perspective. We’ll put a pin in that for the moment. Now think about what is in the news presently. The myriad of issues at play. The countless debates being carried out by the multitude of citizens all in the name of truth, justice, and human dignity. Truth, justice,…
